UAC hosts comedian
Union Activities Council will host comedian Michelle Buteau at 7 p.m. on Monday in the Kanza Room, upstairs in the union. Buteau is an internationally known comedian who has been featured on Comedy Central and Last Comic Standing.
The show is free to any who want to attend but seats will be available on a first come first serve basis.
“When the World Spoke Arabic”
The Arabic Language and Culture Club’s series “When the World Spoke Arabic” will have its second installation at 3 p.m. on Oct. 12 in Roosevelt Hall, room 209.
A showing of the short film, “Ulema and Philosophers: Faith vs. Reason in Islamic Arabia” will precede a discussion. The film talks about the competition between the Ulema, the doctors of law and the Philosophers in Arabic culture.
The series will continue on Oct. 26 with “Everything under the Sun: Astronomy, Mathematics, and Islam”.
