Shonrock to share findings in funding report

At next week’s Faculty Senate meeting, President Michael Shonrock will speak on the Bob Dreiwer Report. The university contracted Robert Driewer as a consultant to ask departments about their priorities and what each department would do with either more funding, less funding or the same funding.

The report comes after the recent Noel-Levitz consultation report on improving retention at Emporia State. Shonrock will discuss the results of the report, as well as the university’s plans to use them.

Driewer has experience with hospital budgeting, which derives funding from multiple sources, similar to how universities are funded. Driewer looked for common themes among the departments and has made suggestions on how to implement some of the suggestions provided by faculty and staff.

The Faculty Senate meeting is open to anyone wishing to attend. It will be at 3:30 p.m. next Tuesday in the Preston Family Room in the Memorial Union.
