Hornets gear up for homecoming game against Truman Bulldogs
The Emporia State Hornet football team continues to prepare for the Saturday Homecoming game against thee Truman State Bulldogs.
Head coach Garin Higgins said the team is excited to be back at home.
“I think any time you come play back at home your players get excited about that,” Higgins said. “Being able to play in front of the home crowd and hopefully have a good turn out being homecoming and everything.”
With last weeks defeat against Missouri Western, Higgins said he is happy with the way his team is practicing.
“We have had some schedule disruptions with the weather and things like that,” Higgins said. “We had to adjust but I am pleased with our efforts.”
Having injuries through the season, Higgins said the team looks healthy.
“Not any typical injuries that we have this time of the year,” Higgins said. “We have a few minor injuries but no serious injuries. We are relatively healthy.”
Higgins said his team does not need to change much of their original plan.
“We prepared the same way we do ever week offensively and defensively and work on making improvements from the previous week,” Higgins said.
The Hornets will play the Bulldogs at 1 p.m. in Welch Stadium.
