Officer checked Trusler Sports Complex.

Officer dispatched to Memorial Student Union for a subject locked in building.  Subject was not pushing the emergency bar hard enough.

Officer checked the Earl Center.

Science Hall alarm panel 102. Unknown error.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept. with a break-in call at 2611 W Hwy 50-Bluestem Farm and Ranch Supply.

Officer checked packages found on steps of Anderson Library and moved them inside.

Officer stopped KS 645BDO in Sector 4.  Verbal warning for a one-way violation in the same location.

Resident of ESU Apt. 1201 Triplett Dr. reported a male subject unconscious in front of building ‘F’.  Officer was unable to wake subject. Ambulance was dispatched to same location. Contacted Marc Runge.  He advised to contact Cass Coughlin. Contacted Cass Coughlin and advised of situation.  Subject was not a resident or student. Subject refused transport.  Alternate transportation to his residence was arranged.

August 26

Officer contacted occupant of KS VRS558 at 1104 E 12th and advised not to drive the vehicle with expired plates.

Parking enforcement immobilized KS 384BJQ in Sector 2.

Officer provided jump start assistance for KS 16BFY at the physical plant.

Two female students requested to speak with an officer at ESU PD HQ in reference to a roommate problem.

Officer checked KS 837BQM in Sector 8 in reference to an ongoing investigation.  No problem was found.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept. with a shots fired call in 1100 East.

Resident Assistant reported students smoking marijuana in 7th floor stairwell of North Twin Towers. Officer contacted several subjects.

Kalie Peters reported a suspicious vehicle outside 1519 Merchant-Chi Omega Sorority.  Vehicle left the area prior to officer’s arrival.  Extra patrol requested.

Miguel Johns requested to speak with an officer at Twin Towers reception area.  Case pending.

Officer stopped 093BWG in 1800 Highland. Verbal warning for speeding in same location.

August 28

Student Guard reported black BMW parked in between Plumb Hall and Memorial Student Union.  Vehicle left the area prior to officer’s arrival.

Officer stopped KS 839BOF in 1200 Cottonwood.  Verbal warning for speeding in 100 E 12th.

August 30

Officer responded to a blue light call at Beach Music Hall stairwell. No contact was made.

Resident of ESU Apt. 1201 Triplett Dr. reported a verbal altercation in apartment

Officer stopped KS QSL394 in Sector 7. Verbal warning was given for one way violation at 100 East 16th. Robert Krahn was arrested for an alleged warrant and transported by Emporia Police Department. Rebecca Butner was arrested for an alleged Minor In Consumption and transported to Lyon County Sheriff’s Office where she was processed and released.

Officer responded to a 911 hang up at Central Morse Hall Room 12.  Officer was unable to make contact with anyone in the room.

Officer took report of a non-injury accident involving KS 477BWH and KS 423AUE at 1700 Morse Dr.

Officer observed male subject attempting to pick up a bench in front of Snip-N-Clip 12th and Merchant.  Subject fled after spotting officer.  After searching the area, officer was unable to locate.

Officer observed two male subjects carrying construction cones in the area of 15th and Merchant.  Subjects had removed the cones from a construction site in 1400 Merchant.  The cones were turned over to an Emporia Police Dept. officer to be returned.

Officer removed debris from the street in 100 W 13th.

The Art Dept. staff reported a van with its door open in Sector 9.  Owner of KS 945BBF was contacted and the vehicle was secured.

Officer provided jump start assistance for KS XGI813 at Sector 6.

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS WKQ060 in Lot 7.

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS 022AGQ at 11 E 6th.

Butcher Education Center staff member requested to speak with an officer in reference to damage to the emergency exit in Room 117.

Officer contacted two skateboarders in Sector 6 and advised of campus policy.

A female student requested to speak with Sgt. Sadowski at ESU PD HQ.

Officer contacted operator of KS 617AME and advised not to park off the roadway north of I-35.

Officer contacted subject fishing at King Lake and advised of campus policy.

Officer provided jump start assistance for KS 310BFT in Sector 7.

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS at 1300 Center.

Ambulance responded to Cremer Hall 2nd floor lounge for a female student having a seizure. Student was transported by ambulance to Newman Regional Health.

 

March 5

 

Officers provided lock out assistance for KS 564AXM at 1125 Mechanic.

Officer checked the welfare of Kaitlynn Kuhlmann and Michael Swan north of I-35. 

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS 699CBP in Sector 3.

Officer stopped KS 394BWH at Highland and Merchant. Citation for failure to yield to pedestrian in crosswalk at 15th and Merchant.

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS WKQ060 at 1428 Highland.

Officer stopped KS 122ALZ at 300 E 14th for improper registration.   Citation for driving while suspended. Subject was taken into custody and transported to  Lyon Co. jail.

Parking Enforcement immobilized MO KB5Z2N in Lot 11.

Parking Enforcement removed immobilizer from MO KB5Z2N in Lot 11.

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS VUF285 in 1400 Market.

Officer contacted subjects littering in Sector 7. Shannon McCoy was allegedly issued a citation for MIC. Hannah Hemberger was allegedly issued a citation for MIC. Clayton Boatright was allegedly issued a citation for MIC. Justin Verstraete was allegedly issued a citation for MIC.

Officer stopped KS 30-Day tag 149098 at 1829 Merchent.  Verbal warning for driving with a flat tire and too many passengers.

 

March 6

 

Officer checked welfare of occupants of KS 196AFH and KS 974BWG north of I-35.  No problem was found.

Officer stopped KS 208ALZ at 12th and Exchange.  Verbal warning for speeding in1000 E 12th.

 

March 7

 

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS 170AAW at 1112 Merchant.

Officer gave a verbal warning to operator of KS QSC825 for parking off of roadway north of King Lake.

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS 766CMT in Lot 3.

Officer assisted KS 309AFJ at 1201 Triplett Dr. ESU Apts with changing a tire.

Officer  provided lock out assistance for KS WDC598 at 1226 Market.

Officer checked KS 003BWH on I-35 at the Merchant Street exit.  Vehicle was unoccupied and warning flashers were on.  No other problem was found.

Feb. 22

Danny Verdic was taken into custody for allegedly driving while suspended and for obstructing legal process, and transported to Lyon Co. jail.

ESU PD HQ received a telephone call from the Blue Light Emergency phone at Highland and Wooster Dr.  Officer made no contact with a caller.

Feb. 23

Officer assisted KS XIQ076 at 14th and Highland with opening vehicle due to car being iced over.

Officer admitted Christian Crusaders into Visser Hall Room 330.

Officer reset the alarm system in WAW Library.

Officer stopped KS 720AIL in Sector 2.  Verbal warning for a stop sign violation at 15th and Wooster Dr.

Feb. 24

Officer took Santanna McBride into custody on a Lyon Co. warrant. McBride was transported to Lyon Co. jail.

Starting mileage 92.9. Ending Mileage 94.0.

Officer completed deposit for Memorial Student Union.

Resident Assistant reported a suspicious odor in Trusler Hall Room 1. Residents were using a candle warmer

Officer contacted subjects on the stones in the water fountain in the Sunken Garden on Kellogg Circle and advised to get off of them.

Officer stopped KS RHY766 in10 E 12th.  Verbal warning for a one-way violation in 1200 Highland.

Officer stopped OK 197AJI in Sector 7.  Verbal warning for a one-way violation in 200 E 16th.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept with  a loud party at 12th and Constitution.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept with a fight at 1829 Merchant.

Feb. 28

Officer assisted City of Emporia with an medical call at 105 W 12th Kwik Shop.

March 1

Officer checked a trash can near the Science Hall that was smoking. A cigarette had been discarded and the can was smoldering.

Officers assisted Emporia Police Dept. with an attempted burglary call at 1532 E 6th.

Officer stopped KS 944CBP in Belmont Ct. Trailer Park as a suspcious vehicle in reference to the Emporia Police Dept. attempted burglary call.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept. with an arrest at 2036 Ridgeway.  Officer transported male suspect to EPD HQ.

March 2

Jason Bosch reported fight in west lobby of the Memorial Student Union. Fight had ended prior to officers arrival.

Student requested to speak with an officer in reference to a non-injury accident in 1800 Highland.

Officer checked Trusler Sports Complex.  Secured men’s and women’s restrooms and Hannah Clubhouse Room 201

Officer stopped KS 449AWA in 1100 Market.  Citation for defective tail lights.

Feb. 20

Officer stopped KS 525BWD in 1000 Mechanic.  Verbal warning for a one-way violation in 1100 Merchant.

Officer stopped KS 376BBF at 2023 W 6th . Verbal warning for driving without head lights.

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS 911AFI at 3021 W Hwy 50.

Officer checked welfare of occupants of KS 804AGM in 1500 Wooster Dr.  Occupants had pulled into a parking stall.

Officer stopped KS 490BRU at 200 W 12th for failure to stop at red light. Citation was issued for a DUI and subject was transported to Lyon Co jail.

Feb. 21

Officer admitted student into Cremer Hall to retrieve property.

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS XHX605 at 2901 Eaglecrest.

Emporia Police Dept reported 911 hang-up at 136 W 12th, the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.  Officer was unable to determine who made the call.

Officer contacted subjects jumping off the handicap ramp at the HPER building and advised them not to do so.

Student reported suspicious subject taking pictures of the dormitory in the walking mall.  Subject works for Residential Life.

Officer took accident report from KS QZB740 in Sector 6.

A student and her dad requested to speak with an officer about a fall resulting in an injury on Feb. 2nd.

Officer stopped KS 692BZB at 15th and Morse. Verbal warning was given for defective tail light and too many people in the vehicle.

Officer stopped bicyclist at 15th and Morse. Verbal warning given for stop sign violation.

Officer stopped 891ASU in the 1000 block of E. 12th Ave. Verbal warning was given for speed in the 100 block of E. 12th Ave.

Officer observed CO 092LBV in the drive at 1522 Highland. Officer contacted the driver of the vehicle at 300 E. 13th. Drew Smith was arrested for alleged DUI and was transported to Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

Officer provided lock out assistance for KS 766CMT at 800 State St.

Feb. 14

Officer stopped KS Shriners tag 1121 at 600 E. 12th street. Verbal warning was given for defective taillights.

Officer stopped Ks TBR582 at Highland St. and Merchant St.  Verbal warning was given for a defective headlight.

Officer check on a vehicle with it’s lights on in the 1700 Block of Highland St.  No problem found.

Officer stopped Ks 926AUD at 12th Ave. and Market St.  Verbal warning was given for a defective headlight.

Feb. 15

Officer checked welfare of occupants of AR 752BLT north of the I-35.  No problem was found.

Officer stopped KS 071BZX at 12th and Mechanic. Verbal warning for white light to the rear in 10 W 12th.

Officer took report of accident involving KS WXA425 and KS WOJ686 in Sector 3.

Officer returned a dog to its owner at 1302 Lawrence.

Officers were requested to check welfare of Allison Enniking in Beach Music Hall by her roommate. Officers were unable to make contact. Requesting party advised Enniking telephoned her and was staying with a friend.

Officer assisted Emporia Police Dept. locating a cellular telephone in 800 Rural.  The phone belonged to an ESU student.  Officer took possession and item will be returned to owner.

Male subject flagged down officer in 1200 Triplett Dr. to ask about a legal matter. Handled by officer on site.
