Messer, a five member rock band from Dallas, Texas, performed one of the first shows of the second leg of their “Hard and Loud” tour Nov. 3 at Bourbon Cowboy, 605 Commercial St. This was their first Emporia show.

“It’s been a long journey to get to this point...For us we’ve invested our whole lives into breaking this band and bringing these songs to the world essentially,” said Maddox Messer, drummer. “We have great messages…(which are) really reaching out to the people and resonating with the fans. It’s propelling our journey to drive even harder.”

The band focuses on rock music and creating radio hits, according to Dereak Messer, lead singer.

“It’s modern active rock, is what I would consider it,” Maddox Messer said. “We are, with our album, attempting to create new, classic rock songs for the future, essentially.”

Their music is available on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon and their website,, where they also have CDs and vinyl available.

“Get CDs while you can,” Maddox Messer said. “CDs are going to be extinct before you know it. CDs are already a collectors item but we have really cool packaging on our CDs.”
